Most patients describe the discomfort after augmentation as tightness, pressure and soreness rather than severe pain — often likened to an intense chest workout, especially with submuscular placement.

What is normal

  • Tightness and a "heavy" feeling for the first few days to a week.
  • More discomfort with submuscular or dual-plane placement, which involves the muscle.
  • Twinges, "zingers" and changing sensation as nerves recover.

Managing it

Prescribed pain relief, rest, the support bra and gentle movement all help. Most people step down to simple painkillers within days.
