Almost everyone has some natural asymmetry between their breasts. When the difference in size, shape or position is significant, surgery can improve balance.
How asymmetry is corrected
- Implants of different sizes or profiles for each breast.
- An implant on one side only.
- A lift on one or both sides to match position.
- Fat transfer for fine volume adjustment.
Realistic expectations
The goal is improved symmetry rather than perfect identical breasts, which is rarely achievable. Careful measurement and planning are essential, and the surgical plan is highly individual. Significant developmental asymmetry, including tuberous breasts, may need specialised techniques.
