Returning to exercise gradually protects your healing and your result. Always get your surgeon's clearance before progressing, as timelines vary.
A typical staged plan
- Week 1: gentle walking only.
- Weeks 2–4: light lower-body cardio (walking, stationary cycling) if comfortable; no chest or heavy lifting.
- Weeks 4–6: gradually increase lower-body and light activity.
- After ~6 weeks: progressive return to upper-body work, running and, later, chest exercises — building up slowly.
Support and caution
Use a well-fitted sports bra, progress gradually, and stop if you feel pain or notice swelling. With sub-muscular implants, heavy chest training can accentuate animation deformity. See exercise after surgery.
