Hybrid breast augmentation combines a breast implant with fat transfer (lipofilling) in the same operation, aiming to blend the volume and projection of an implant with the natural feel and coverage of the patient's own fat.

The rationale

Fat is harvested by liposuction (often from the abdomen or thighs), processed, and injected around the implant — particularly over the upper pole and cleavage — to soften edges, improve rippling and create a smoother transition.

Considerations

  • Requires enough donor fat for harvest.
  • Some transferred fat is reabsorbed, so results are not fully predictable.
  • Adds liposuction recovery to the procedure.

Compare with fat transfer with implants, and discuss whether you are a candidate.
